I'm still waiting for the RTC battery, so first boot is a PITA having to populate the clock before I can actually boot the machine, but here's the question if you've not nodded off already. it's functional, and even has an extra gig of RAM and new battery as of today.
I've installed XP SP3 and dug up and installed the XP drivers, the last part being a bit tricky because some of the drivers from Lenovo themselves didn't work, but the job is now done. I don't have any machines that run those old-skool OSes, as they're unsupported by Microsoft now, and although I could run a Virtual Machine (VM) on my workshop machine, I've not got enough space to add another device, so want to be able to set up ad hoc wherever there's room. Why? Because I have an ALPS MD-5000 printer, and it only works with Windows XP 32-bit, and I think Windows 7 32-bit. I've been renovating an old Lenovo T60 Laptop that a neighbour left when they moved out, cleaning the thing up, replacing the RTC and actual battery, plus a few other odds and sods, including putting a spare 512GB SSD in place of the 80GB HDD that was in there before.
